Hi Westies,

Canterbury-Bankstown City Council has issued the following directive regarding usage of council parks by organised groups:

"Park and sporting field changes
All Council parks and fields will be closed to organised groups and sports, this will include weddings and prayer gatherings.

Our parks are remaining open for your enjoyment, such as walking the dog, kicking a ball with your family, or using the play equipment."

Therefore, it is with much sadness that for the foreseeable future all Westies Joggers club organised events at Lake Gillawarna have been suspended until further notice. You may, however, continue to use council parks in a private capacity.

During this time we urge all members to keep up to date with all government and health department updates and follow all health guidelines to remain safe.

We will continue to remain in contact with members via Facebook and our website to keep you up to date with any further developments.

UPDATE: At this time we kindly request members who are choosing to run at Lake Gillawarna to not congregate around the Westies Clubhouse. The Club is currently officially closed and we do not wish to give any impression that the Club is still meeting either formally or informally. When you finish your run, kindly please disperse.
