5@theLake Results

Last Saturday we held the 1st of our runs in the 2018-19 5@theLake series. The winner of the series will have the best cumulative score from 8 out of the 11 runs, from September through to July).

  • This go, we had 36 starters
  • 7 pbs, including a couple coming off easy runs in the past
  • 3 missed their pb by 6 secs or less
  • 4 newies having a go at their first 5@theLake course

There are 2 attachments to reflect the results.

The first report is straight-forward - identifying the clocked time of all finishers as they cross the line.

Vateesh Chand crossed first in a time of 19:11, missing his pb time by 3 seconds.

Jack Wedgwood was second in 19:43, and

Zac Brown having his first run was third in 19:50.

By category, the quickest were:

Males: Vateesh Chand 19:11, Jack Wedgwood 19:43 and Zac Brown 19:50

Females: Jacqui Viterale 23:31, Ly Hoang  24:35 and Sue Chenery 24:55

Juniors (under 16) – Male:  Jack Wedgwood 19:43, and Nathan Trinh 24:41

Juniors (under 16) – Female:  Sophie Trinh 25:33, Emma Trinh 26:00 and Eliya Caraballo 42:58

The second report reflects the calculation of points and our real champs of the day, based on the international formula for gender and age against world record, reported in ‘points’ sequence. It can be that the early finishers may not be the highest point-scorers and vice-versa.

On the day Sue Chenery was announced as our winner, 0.1 point ahead of Dean Turner.

My error. ☹

Ages are supposed to automatically update with the change of event date, but that did not happen, and was not realised until reviewing the results ... and because Dean has had a birthday since the program was last used, this gave him an extra point, and the win, by 1 point. Congratulations Dean. My sincerest apologies Sue. (But we can’t change the photo 😊 )

Our winners:

1st Dean Turner  470.7 points

2nd Sue Chenery  469.7

3rd Vateesh Chand  464.7

To all our participants, thank you for being part of the event.

A special thank you to Davo for marking up the course beforehand, and to Chris for setting up the water station.

Thanks as always to the many helpers with the set-up and the mat put-away.

Vic.
