We had 51 starters in conditions suitable for pbs and ‘best runs for some time’. There were 21 who bettered their handicap, and 9 with pbs.

First to cross the mat was Dot Siepmann in the chip time of 32:46, her best since January’16. Injuries have even had Dot taking over 50 minutes to complete the 3.5k, and her comeback continues at a positive rate. Dot is to be applauded for her apprising the handicapper of her progress, so that the handicap can be revised accordingly. On this go, even her expectations were exceeded, bettering her last effort two months ago by over 11 minutes, and breaking handicap by over 6 minutes. Go Dotty! Supergirl!

Next to cross the mats two minutes later was Lauren Osborne, with 33:39, a two minute pb, and three minutes ahead of threshold. Great effort Lauren.

Then Viv Fulford in her comeback qualifier to the club with 34:06. Welcome back Viv.

Then Sandra Riches, also on the injury comeback trail, three minutes better than last month, and ahead of threshold. Go Sandra.

Being ahead of the 30:00 minutes on the clock, the threshold, you are ineligible for the trophy!

Chris Moynham crossed with his best time in four months, and ahead of threshold. Too good Chris, and well done.

Then Corinne Fulford, Marly Greenwood, Vicky Fulford and Doug Fulford. all qualifiers and ahead of threshold, and handicap. Well done.

Next to cross the mats was our trophy winner, Jordan Burns in his pb time of 18:45 producing his best effort since December’15. He bettered handicap on the day by a minute; reports have Jordan running hard right to the finish line and is to be congratulated for a whole-hearted effort. Congratulations Jordan. Great effort. Excellent run!

Next home and officially 2nd was Pam Green. Not only was this effort from Pam her best since December'15, it was the third podium finish in three months for Pam. Well done Pam, another great effort today.

All up 9 participants produced pbs and many others produced their best efforts for some time. These have been identified in the reporting.

Fastest on course were:

David Riches in 12:07, Vateesh Chand 13:14, Dean Turner 14:28

Stephanie Bilic 14:34, Sabrina Peng 15:11, Mary Sheehan 15:51.

Thank you to all so much for participating. Thanks to everyone for helping Rob Ellison with the set-up and wrap-up of the handicap. Thanks to Joan and Nadza for being on hand to assist with chips and registrations.

This run saw several prodigals coming home: Vicki, Corinne & Viv Fulford, Sharon Farrell & Vicki Willis, all regulars from times gone by. Welcome back ladies!
